I came from a place where your business is everybody’s business, people judge each other as they breathe, and you are stamped with where you are from, who are your parents, and the family name reputation.
Certain general rules set the norm and God forbid that you try to be abnormal.
This full judgments & expectation atmosphere doesn’t shape the way you interact with people, but the way you see and see & deal with your feeling, actions & thoughts.
So many girls I know grew up with the wonder if what they do is good enough or worthy and what will people think of them or their actions. I did hit that road a few times especially when I started my yoga journey.
As I started my teaching career, whenever a new opportunity arises my mind starts to play the record of thoughts on repeat, you are not ready, you don’t have enough resources, it is too early for you, and the worst of them all you are not that kind of girl until I was not sure what kind of girl I am.
Until one day on my yoga mat where all magic happens, I decided that I don’t have to be any kind of girl, I can explore and find out how to be just me, I went extreme sometimes which was ok we are allowed to do that as you don’t know what do you want until you know exactly what you don’t want.
The path looks clear to me now, and I am proud to be me. Thanks to my husband & family who supported me all the way.
I am looking forward to the day when girls in our regions are free of expectations, set plans, & judgments when every girl is free to be herself and unleash her potential.
My dream is to have the voice to educate them about their right to freedom and tell them how valuable they are.
Don’t let anyone stand on your to open the gateway to fulfilling who you are.
