I took one week off from social media. Are you wondering how that impacted my career?!!
How taking a break from social media affected my teaching career:
- Students, I lost 0
- Follower I lost 0
- Important news I’ve missed 0
- Number of people asked why I didn’t show up for a while. 0
- Anything that I can’t catch up on for marketing or announcement 0
- Number of books I finished 1
- New topics I learned about, 10
- Online courses I’ve finished 1 16 hours
- Number of classes I’ve prepared to teach 3
- New idea to put in action for my business 5
And, I was actually able to check on students I didn’t see for a week, and that’s the real concoction
But if I missed my kids’ bedtime, they would miss me
If I missed my meditation or yoga practice, my body and mind would miss it
If I missed calling mom & and dad, I would miss them
If I don’t talk to my close friends for 5 days, they will check on me and ask how I have been.
Our real life happened on the other side of the screen. Don’t let the screen rule your life.
For some people, and I am one of them, social media is a necessary tool nowadays to reach people and grow your business but you need to take any action needed to find the balance between what is virtual and what is real.
Remember, your real life happened once. Make sure you are present in it, actually living it.
Enjoying the moment.
